As you stroll through lush New Zealand flora and past a tranquil waterfall on your way to the entrance, the ambiance of the space comes to life.

Inside: Kitchen: Fully equipped for all your culinary needs. Dining Area: Features a table with seating for four. Living Room: Relax with a 42-inch Smart TV, Sonos Soundbar, and a motorized retractable couch with side tables. Bathroom: Generously sized with a 1200mm shower. Bedroom: Spacious wardrobe and a remote-controlled heater for added comfort. The queen bed also includes a pull-out single trundle bed. Enjoy award-winning comfort with Ecosa and Emma branded mattresses. Outside: A large 70sqm area with a BBQ, bar leaner, outdoor dining, and a cozy couch. Fish Pond/Waterfall: Adds a serene touch to the entrance. Shared Wellness Level: This level is situated mid-site and functions as a shared space with a smaller dwelling located at the very top of the site. There are designated time slots for each dwelling to ensure private hot tub use. Firkins Retreat, located on the bottom level, is completely private. Smart Home Features: The entire home is smart-connected. Control the ambiance with Alexa, adjusting lighting and other features with ease. Enjoy pre-set routines like "Night Time" or "Bedtime," which automate various functions including motorized blinds.

Other Details to Note

The retreat is accessible only on foot via landscaped steps, stairs, and boardwalks. There are approximately 32 steps from the street to the main deck, with handrails provided where needed. The journey through the trees and ferns is enchanting, especially at night with colorful LED lighting guiding your way. Please be aware that there is no driveway or dedicated parking at the dwelling; plenty of street parking is available.

Firkins Retreat is a very special place! Firstly Brad, the host, is incredibly generous and has been very responsive from the day we booked, 6 months prior to our stay! The retreat has a beautiful view of the city, is incredibly clean and consists of all the necessities and more! A cool perk is that the cabin is a smart house, and all the usage information is easily found in a booklet that was created for guests! There is parking available and it is also located within walking distance to cafes and attractions in Picton!

This is a sensational 'tree house' . Very modern with every concevable appliance , gadgetry, fixture and fitting required for a self-cartering stay. It is beautifully furnished, the bed is comfortable and the linen crisp. Brad has thought of everything and has done an exceedingly good job designing and building this 'retreat' Absolutely nothing...... oh ok if I am forced to write something, the toilet paper could be three ply!!!!

Firkins Retreat is an amazing place to stay. It has everything you need and is only a few minutes away from the ferry terminal. The spa was fantastic after a long day and washer & dryer to boot! 5 stars 🌟

What a fantastic place to stay! One of our favourite AirBnBs. Brad has done a great job at creating a modern, stylish and well designed residence with wonderful views of the boats leaving and arriving in Picton. The property is immaculate with lovely outdoor seating areas and innovative use of technology to make life very easy for guests. Brad is a very responsive host and has poured his heart and soul into creating a special place to stay. The only thing for those with limited mobility to be aware of is the steps up to the property. Not a problem for us, even with two heavy suitcases. Can highly recommend Firkin’s Retreat.Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer than 2 nights.
